Hello Friend!
Here at Wild and Wonderful Life, we brainstormed ways we could help support our community (and world) at this weird time in history. We thought about what is missing right now, what we are all facing, and how that is going to show up in our collective mental health.

  • Over 70% of Americans are under stay-at-home orders, leaving us without our daily dose of companionship and nature.
  • We love adventuring, but putting small destination towns at risk means we stay local.
  • Local parks are closing too.

  • Unemployment is set to skyrocket to Depression Era levels, leaving so many at home without hope and access to help.
  • Slowing down leaves room for things to come up, and it's hard to handle it all alone.
  • This is a crisis where there is literally nothing to "do" - and "doing" gives us a sense of purpose and connection.

Our solution: The Root System

The Root System

The Root System is an evolving support group, a membership club and a path through all the weirdness. When you join, we will provide:
  • Twice weekly emails with valuable content, vetted news, resources and more.
  • Weekly community video calls with a focus on mental health and stress management.
  • Special classes online from local experts in mental health, adventure and nature connection.
  • A closed Facebook group where you can connect with other Root System members, and create lasting relationships.
Being outdoorsy ourselves, we don't like staring at the computer screen all day either. We will also send lots of things to do that DO NOT involve the internet or technology. Like...
  • The option to join a good ol’e phone chain! Curated, of course, where we can deepen our sense of connection and community.
  • A Pen Pal! For you, your kids, or your mom - you’ll be matched with someone we’ve vetted!
  • Meditations and nature immersive activities.
  • Workout and training resources (to be at our best when emerge).
  • Nature and adventure therapists on standby for individual work, with flexible rates.
Why should you join? Because you are an active, outdoorsy, nature loving person who is now stuck inside not going on adventures.
Why? Because you need something to look forward to every week. Because you aren't sleeping like you used to. Because you are snapping at your family and feeling overwhelmed by everything that is going on.
Why? Because this service is free and everyone needs a little boost, especially now.

Why? Because our paid subscribers (could be you!) subsidize therapy for those who can’t afford it, and bolster the local community of private practice therapists.
Why? Because the world is stressed out, and we need more ways to regulate!
