This group is led by AMGA certified guide and adventure therapist Aleya Littleton. Aleya has been a climbing instructor for the past 10 years, and has climbed all over the United States and internationally. She knows that women learn to climb and experience the world differently than men, and seeks to create a supportive and respectful atmosphere where her clients are empowered, safe and inspired.
Rock climbing is a full body therapeutic activity that focuses on joining the mind and body. The WWL trauma-informed rock climbing group uses mindfulness and rock climbing to decreases symptoms of anxiety, depression, insomnia and relational trouble. This once weekly psychoeducational climbing class teaches mindfulness and basic rock climbing skills in the context of a women only social group.
