Women's Therapeutic Rock Climbing Group

Do you suffer from depression or anxiety? Are you tired of feeling "broken" or fragile?

Wild and Wonderful Life offers a once weekly (for 8 weeks) psychoeducational and therapeutic climbing group that teaches mindfulness and basic rock climbing skills. If you are experiencing depression, anxiety or post traumatic stress disorder, this approach has been very successful in providing relief!

​Rock climbing is a full-body therapeutic activity that focuses on joining the mind with your movement and moods. This rock climbing group uses mindfulness, reflection, supportive processing and rock climbing to decreases symptoms of anxiety, depression, insomnia and relational trouble.


Program Details:
  • Once weekly - 9am to 1pm.
  • 8 weekly meetings.
  • All gear provided.
  • Size, limited to 8 women.
  • Therapeutic topics covered: Mindfulness, Emotion Regulation, Neuroplasticity and changing the brain, 
  • Climbing topics covered: Belaying, Knots, Technique, Self Rescue and Anchor Building. 
This program runs twice per year from June to August, and September to November. 

Coming in january 2018:

In January 2018 Wild and Wonderful Life Counseling will begin offering a two month, online course, designed to bring together Adventure Therapy and mindfulness. Each unit features a new tool, reading and videos, and an adventure homework assignment.
